René Nelis (born in 1965) has been connected to BDO since 1985. From 2021 onwards, he is a member of the Board of Directors and holds the position of Chairman (CEO). He graduated as a registered accountant and was appointed as a partner in 2004. Throughout his career, he has held various responsibilities, including for a mixed practice in the field of Audit & Assurance and Accountancy & Business Advisory. In addition, he was Profit Center Manager for BDO Amstelveen-Haarlem. In this role, he worked to achieve successful results for BDO and was responsible for, among other things, the merger of the Amstelveen and Haarlem offices at the new location in Amstelveen.
